The CARD – Light to Life Project, Kshipra, inaugurated on 2 December 2017, serves 200 children from SC, ST, OBC, migrant, general, and farming communities in Sarvodaya Nagar, Shanti Nagar, and Jaisingh Nagar of Dewas District, Madhya Pradesh. With a vision for holistic child development, the project integrates education, health, values, and leadership. Key interventions in 2024–25 included tuition support, mentoring, summer camps, computer training, and library access, alongside regular parent-teacher meetings. Health and nutrition were addressed through daily meals, medical camps, and hygiene awareness, while cultural and skill development activities like craft, music, dance, and sports competitions nurtured children’s creativity and confidence. Rallies, street plays, and environmental drives strengthened awareness on child marriage, drug abuse, domestic violence, and ecological responsibility.
The project recorded notable achievements during the year, including 100% pass results in board exams, with children like Divya Chandraban and Sachin Dubeydi excelling academically. Leadership was strengthened through peer study groups and Child Parliament, while value formation instilled respect, discipline, and social harmony. Children showcased talent in arts and sports, building confidence and teamwork. Despite challenges such as extreme heat, water scarcity, pollution, poverty, and limited healthcare, the project continues to create a lasting impact by empowering children and communities with education, nutrition, discipline, and awareness. Moving forward, it seeks to expand peer learning and leadership initiatives, strengthen community partnerships, and address environmental and health challenges through advocacy and sustainable practices.
