Vision

To inspire mission enthusiasm among church members by providing opportunities for them to engage directly with the mission work of the Mar Thoma Church in India. Through firsthand experiences, such as mission trips, volunteer involvement, and immersive cultural exchanges, members can gain a deeper understanding of the needs, challenges, and transformative impact of these ministries. This personal connection fosters a passionate commitment to supporting and advancing the church’s mission efforts both locally and globally.

Mission Trips

Each year, an immersive ten-day visit to various mission fields across India is organized, providing volunteers with a unique opportunity to witness and participate in the impactful work of the Mar Thoma Church firsthand. Details about these mission trips are shared widely within the parishes to encourage members to volunteer and engage actively. To make these visits more accessible, the Mission Board subsidizes a portion of the expenses, helping to ease the financial burden for those called to serve. This support enables more members to experience the mission work up close, fostering deeper connection and commitment to the church’s outreach efforts. Past mission trips have been taken to various mission fields in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Haryana, Maharashtra, etc.

The Benefit

Participants are afforded the opportunity to engage deeply with the daily life of rural Indian villages, actively participating in worship and Holy Communion services conducted by local Christian communities. They gain direct insight into the ministry of evangelists, closely observe the methodologies employed in mission work, and witness the tangible transformation experienced by individuals and families as a result of these efforts. Additionally, participants develop an informed understanding of the socio-economic and cultural challenges confronting these communities. Such exposure cultivates a comprehensive and nuanced appreciation of the church’s mission and its vital role within these context
