Light to Life Program
The Light to Life program, supported by the Mar Thoma Mission Board, New York in partnership with the Nagaland Development Outreach, was started in the year 2022. Its office is located in Dimapur, Nagaland, India.
Under the leadership of Rev. C. Amop Noklang, Director, and Ms. M.I. Asenla, Project In-Charge, all the centers are efficiently monitored and running smoothly. Each center has two dedicated staff members, and together they serve a total of 150 children.
The three centers are:
- Calvary Fellowship, K. Sachu Colony
- Bethesda Chapel, Xelhoshe
- Innovators Ministry, Chumoukedima
The learning centers operate six days a week. In addition to academics, extracurricular activities such as recitation, singing, quiz, and drawing are incorporated for the holistic development of the children. Games and sports are also organized, especially on Saturdays, to ensure physical well-being and teamwork.
The children are happy to attend the centers as they actively participate in various engaging and creative activities. We are deeply grateful to all sponsors for their care and continued support to these needy children.
Light to Life Tribal Children Hostel
The Light to Life Tribal Children Hostel program was commenced in 2024 with 77 poor and needy children selected from different tribal associations. The hostel is located in Nikhekhu Village under Niuland District, Nagaland.
Currently, the hostel accommodates 30 girls and 47 boys. Including the staff, there are 81 members living together as one family on the campus. The children belong to various tribes and come from financially challenged backgrounds.
The students attend two different schools — Nito High School and GMS Nikhekhu — and are studying in classes ranging from 4 to 8.
Over time, the students have shown great improvement in their reading and writing skills as well as in extracurricular activities provided in the hostel. Proper tuition and academic support are offered regularly to ensure that every student progresses and performs better in all aspects of life.
